Happy New Year

Hey all, giving the blog post thing a mobile try. Starting this year off with a 100% mobile device post. It’s been a while since I last wrote but I do have some good things to share from the end of the year. Last year brought a lot of new changes, but the one that took the bulk of our time was a home remodel. From destruction to frustration, then construction and elation… And finally celebration!

In case you were wondering what the house looks like now, we went with an open concept and took down some walls and redesigned the kitchen.

It really allowed us to get much more natural light and make that whole space much more accommodating to guests. As with any rennovation, there were hiccups along the way with materials, quality, timing and just plain project management. However, the flip side is getting what we wanted including the little details like 3000K temp led lights, specific cabinet hardware and choosing where our quartz countertops would be cut.

2015 also ended up with a lot of good family time and just great time with ourselves in our new space. Even the dogs love the new space!

With the new year here, it’s a good time to reflect back and think about how I can make 2016 better for myself as well as my friends and family. Some aspirations for this year will be to continue to focus on a healthy diet and lifestyle with cycling and a bit more running, focusing on work where there have been some changes (mostly good) and continue to nurture and grow relationships with friends and family. It’s not going to be easy and things will be tighter this year with the remodel, but home is where the heart is and we plan to spend a lot more time here!
Cheers to the new year!
